Pete Burge - 3-Sport LSU Star Athlete

Dennis F. “Pete” Burge was born on January 11, 1913 in Poplarville, Mississippi. In 1930, he matriculated at Pearl River Junior College, and became a three-sport star athlete -- football, basketball, and track 

​

​Pete continued his athletic prowess at Louisiana State University, becoming the starting right end on the football team, the starting center on the basketball squad, and running the 220 and 440 for the track team.
